Dear Sharon and Alon and friends (Pictures below) To Simba Index My tail has hardly stopped wagging since I spotted that you had been looking at my picture on the internet. Isn’t technology wonderful! And all our relatives and friends as well! Israel, New Zealand, Denmark, South Africa, Norway, America – all over the shop. I had no idea I had so many pals. Anyway, this is just a note to tell you that I am on top form. I have my own en-suite room but like to be where the action is. I have a very comfortable bed on the best settee. I get plenty of IAMS and lots of walks with Emma and with Bob. (They have stopped rehearsing their parts in the play with me at last.) We meet interesting people up in the wood and Bob or Emma have chats while I go off looking for something to chase. I am keeping the cat population on its toes but my favourite sport is squirrel chasing. You would never know I had ever been injured. You should see me run. I have a few dog friends who I see regularly – a good job they are out and about as there is no pub or shop to go to now. However, Bob tells me the pub is for sale again so he is hopeful. I told him he should buy it with his loose change but he seems reluctant for some reason. Jean likes me around. I don’t shed my hair, you see. She takes some good snaps of me. I know who to go to for a treat now and again. Spring has finally sprung in the Eversdens. As you saw, the bluebells were brilliant again this year. The cow parsley is twice my height. It’s still a bit cool though. Our world map is covered in pins marking your travels. You’ve covered some ground since you rescued me on the roadside in Canada before we all came to live here. It would be great if you and our people around the world would drop me a line. You could write to editor@the-eversdens.co.uk and he will pass it on through the village website. Lots of licks Simba (27 May 2006 04:36 Sharon and Alon say thanks for the letter and pictures and send best regards from New Zealand to everyone in Eversden. So far Simba's letter has been read in eight countries! They plan to reply formally to Simba as soon as they can get some computer time. They are on the move again. Ed.) |
